Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Pixie Papercraft collects, why, and the control you have over your data. We collect only what we need to build and ship your planner and run the business — nothing is sold to anyone.

What we collect

Your account email (for passwordless sign-in and order updates); the planner designs you create; and the photos you upload to put in your planner. When you order, we also collect your shipping address, gift message (if any), and a payment confirmation from our processor — we never see or store full card numbers. If you contact support or leave a review, we keep what you send us.

If you fill in a keepsake book, we hold what you type into it — and that is usually about someone else. The books ask for a child's school, teacher, height, best friend and how a year felt to them; a baby's weight and how the nights are going; the story of a wedding. You are typing a person's life into a form, often a child's, often for years, and we would rather say so here than let "your designs" cover it. It is held to print your book and for nothing else: it is never sold, never used to advertise to you, and never used to train anything.

How we use it

To render and print your planner, fulfill and ship orders, send order and shipping notifications and any re-order reminders you opt into, answer support requests, and operate, secure, and improve the service.

Cookies & analytics

We use a single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and first-party analytics to understand how the builder and checkout are used (e.g. how many people reach checkout). This uses a random visitor id, not third-party ad trackers, and we don't use it to follow you around the web.

Connecting your Google Calendar (optional)

The builder can offer a Connect Google Calendar button, so you don't have to retype events you already keep somewhere else. It appears only where we have that connection switched on, and it does nothing at all until you press it.

If you do press it, Google asks you to approve read-only access, and we read your primary calendar for the one year your planner covers. From each event we keep the date and a shortened title — up to 60 of them — and nothing else: no guests, no locations, no notes, no other calendars. They are handed straight to the builder through a cookie that lasts minutes and is deleted the moment the builder reads it. We never write to your calendar, we don't ask for offline access, and we don't keep a Google token or a copy of your calendar on our servers. (Google's consent screen also lists the basic sign-in scopes — your email address — because they travel with the same request; we don't store anything from them on this path.) The events you then choose to keep are saved as part of that design, exactly like an event you typed in yourself, and you can delete them there. You can also withdraw our access at any time from your Google account.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to deliver your order, each with the minimum data required: our payment processor (Stripe), our print and fulfillment partner (Lulu), and our email and hosting providers. They process your data on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

Reviews are public

If you submit a review, the rating, text, any name or photo you include, and that it's from a verified buyer may be displayed publicly on the storefront once approved. Don't include anything in a review you wouldn't want shown publicly.

Your choices & rights

From your account you can manage and delete your saved designs, opt out of reminder emails, download a copy of all your data, and delete your account entirely. Deleting your account removes your saved designs and the photos you uploaded, and de-identifies your activity. Past orders are kept for legal and accounting records but stripped of your personal details (name, email, and shipping address). You can also email us to make any access, correction, or deletion request.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, designs, and photos for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Order and payment records are kept as required by tax and accounting law (generally several years) even after account deletion, in de-identified form.

Your saved designs are deleted as soon as you delete them or close your account. Your PRINT FILES — the photos and the composed book behind an order — are kept for 90 days after that, and then permanently deleted. That is what makes our 90-day reprint promise possible: if a book arrives damaged, misprinted, or not matching the design you ordered, we can reprint it from the original files rather than asking you to rebuild it. A reprint comes off the same file, so the second copy says what the first one said: what holding them buys you is a replacement for a printing or postal fault, not a second chance at the design. We can't reprint a book whose files we've already destroyed, which is the only reason we hold them at all. After 90 days they're gone and a reprint is no longer possible.

If you checked out as a guest there is no account for you to close, so we set the clock instead: we keep a guest order’s print files for 16 months from the day you paid, and then delete them the same way. That is the whole span of what we might still do for you — the 90-day reprint window, and the reminder we send around a year later if the book is one people re-order — and nothing beyond it. You don’t have to wait for that date: ask us and we’ll delete them sooner.

Children

The service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information FROM a child: the account, the order and everything typed into a book come from the adult who bought it, and there is nothing here for a child to sign up to or fill in themselves.

A keepsake book is, of course, usually ABOUT a child — that is what it is for. What goes into it is what you choose to put there, and you can leave any question blank and still have a book. If you would like a book's contents removed, ask us and we will delete them; if you believe a child has sent us information directly, tell us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll update the date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here.
